Week 39
Waar denk je aan bij het woord ordinair? Het eerste dat mij boven komt drijven is een beeld van een dame met een hooggeblondeerde kuif, teveel sieraden en kledij met veel tijgerprints en leer. Daarna denk ik aan een BMW of Mercedes met veel te grote velgen en geblindeerde ramen. Welke beelden het woord ordinair ook bij me oproept, het zijn in geen geval alledaagse taferelen. Toch betekent ordinair (naast vulgair/onbeschaafd) ook alledaags/gewoon. Op de een of andere manier kan ik me in dergelijke tegenstellingen als uitleg voor 1 woord moeilijk verplaatsen. Eigenlijk kan ik niet eens een zin maken waarbij ordinair de betekenis heeft van alledaags/gewoon. Na deze ervaring ging hij door met zijn ordinaire beslommeringen? Klinkt niet echt ordinair (alledaags dus). Wellicht hebben jullie suggesties?
